The starting point
When the causes of this situation we can get lost in a tangled branches or seek to find the trunk, or better still get to the root of the problem. All educational model is based on the vision we have of the human being it is veiled by rules, laws and desires to improve the current situation. Thus, we can be together for months, as has happened in the preparation of the New Law of Education, and not coming to an agreement: we have lost in the details.
The first question that needs to be an educator is how to view their students, because the results of their work will emanate from the way watch, the same can apply to any reforming the current system. When we watch TV news and heard repeatedly that the solution to the economic crisis is to increase productivity and competitiveness, we can ask what idea man behind all this and, especially, how it has been sustained. Competitiveness implies that there is always a winner and a loser therefore provides a situation in which it is impossible for the welfare of the whole society. Our education prepares students to accept this reality, and lays the foundation for normal to see how the struggle to achieve a good job. This idea permeates the entire education system, especially high school.
All this, which is often overlooked, is the germ that ends up attacking and undermining the self esteem of our students and also their teachers. For a person to discover the potential in him, based on a true education, we need to feel your own power, you have absolute trust in her. Our schools, without being aware of it, are not in general support this process, among other reasons because the teachers are the fruit of an education, which has promoted more than a certain idea of \u200b\u200bsuccess that the human and personal development of students. How can we accept as normal that speak both the technological level of society, and so little of the deployment of the potentials and gifts of its citizens ...?
In a simplistic view of the educational problem is said that our teenagers are a poorly educated, who have lost respect for their parents and teachers, who only think of them. As a high school teacher for 24 years I have been tempted by this explanation often made me feel more comfortable in the uncomfortable and above all helped me take refuge in my own victimhood. But something inside me told me he had something more important things that were going ignored. This feeling increased when I could talk alone with my students, without the pressure of the group and meet with a class, ie when allowed me to look at adolescent heart to heart, without prejudice, without calling ahead expectations.
holistic view of the world and human
The prefix "holo" comes from Greek and means complete, whole, holistic vision is aimed at overcoming the enormous divisions we have made in our knowledge, is thus an integrative way, it does not intend to let anything or anyone out.
holistic education, a process in which everyone can collaborate
How can we be adding our band levels of observation? . First you must remove the obstacles, limiting beliefs we have about ourselves. We must begin a process of personal growth and return to those wise words that we mentioned in philosophy class, but we're not taught to implement "Know thyself." At the moment there are plenty of books, online information and seminars that can help us take the first steps. In short, we must reconstruct our education in order to serve our children and students with greater breadth of vision, is a challenge that we may drift away from flooding our current defeatist media. Holistic education make us all students and teachers in life, each of us can make a few thousandths of a degree on the way to full view.
